So, I'm not a videographer...A video can provide some atmosphere that my photos don't. Sometimes that's a good thing, and sometimes it is not. The video was just captured with my iPhone, but one can definitely appreciate how one could walk right by and never see these 3 big horn sheep. The back story: Several years ago some sheep were re-introduced to the Catalina Mts. on the North side of Tucson. The first attempt gave the mountain lion population an easy meal and did not achieve the original "re-introduction" goal. But as evidenced here, the sheep are now thriving, reproducing....and traveling! The oldest ram pictured here has his tracking collar, but the 2 younger rams are free of adornments. The big horn sheep were released on the Northern slopes of the Catalina Mountains. These guys are regularly visiting the Southern side! I'm guessing they did not circumnavigate the periphery of the mountain range. If you are a big horned sheep, you go over the top. Scoffing at the granite cliffs all the way! No Problem.
